7 gateways to reconnect children with nature

The 7 Connection Gateways Pedagogy (c) is a pedagogy of change primarly dedicated to urban Teachers and Educators, even with no specific knowledge of nature.

It aims to connect with nature and to ensure that children, as well as their Educator, make a smooth transition from their daily educational context and objectives, to nature-based education.

It offers an indispensable basis for any effective approach to environmental education.

This oudoor teaching pedagogy recognises the child:

As a whole − made up of a body, emotions and an intellect
As an entity which is both social (other children) and biological (other living beings)

Educators and Teachers are at the heart of the pedagogy. They act as Nature Mediator (c) to strenghen an authentic connection between child and nature, in both ways.

For more experienced Educators, the use of the 7 gateways leads them to extend and consolidate their outdoor education, their impact and their own connection to nature.

Pedagogical innovation

The pedagogy is made to introduce more nature-based education in the ordinary educational practices, integrating the existing organizations. It is therefore designed to be accessible to the greatest number of educators, and therefore of children, with:

7 complementary gateways between the inside world and the living world, nature
3 basic pedagogical pillars, compatible with most curricula and pedagogies from the indoor
1 nature-mediator role, putting the human being back at the heart of the educational approach
4 key skills to deeply awaken in children

The use of and training in the 7 Connection Gateways Pedagogy(c) are subject to obtaining a licence. No organisation, institution, company or individual worker in any capacity whatsoever, can claim to use this pedagogy nor to be a Nature Mediator(c) without a Licence. Only Aurelia cg is authorised to give this licence. This license can cover three levels:

“licensed 7 Connection Gateways Pedagogy (c) - Trainer”
