I feel an urgent need to engage children, today, in the construction of their future world. I believe that we bear the responsibility to give children the environment they need to blossom, develop their infinite potential, creativity and ‘joie de vivre’.

By creating my own organisation to accompanying children into nature, I became aware of the unique requirements of this new generation of children for whom the virtual connection is taking precedence over the connection with the real world.

“Eco-phobia”, “eco-anxiety”, “solastagia” are new words for very concrete issues and behaviours for our children.

  • Just letting go the children in nature is not enough (anymore?) to build a strong bond with nature. As in every learning process, the accompanying adult is key in the process and must be able to open minds, arouse curiosity and sense of wonder with nature.
    > I have created a pragmatic pedagogy, the 7 Connection Gateways (c) to effectively support, spread and teach nature-based education.

  • If we want to democratise outdoor learning for all existing schools, including those in the city, we need to open up instruction about nature to instruction with nature, accessible in everyday life and able to support the school curriculum.
    > I build on my strong experience in nature-based education and change management to effectively support schools and institutions in this goal: reparing this new generation’s connection to nature.
